The odometer shows 17,283km but exact mileage is unknown – the car has travelled just a few hundred kilometres since being recently restored. The car is believed to have had just 3 owners from new, chassis number 11304412008098. According to our client the car was originally owned by a museum in Japan where it sat for a number of years. In 2004 it was exported to the UK where it was owned by a lady for 2 years. Our client acquired it from her in 2006, keeping the car in dry storage and using it occasionally. In 2014 the decision was taken to undergo a thorough restoration, putting the car in the reputable hands of reputable Mercedes specialist Mårten Borgny, who is also an active member of the Swedish Mercedes-Benz club and has restored several Pagodas. During the time it spent with Mårten the body has been completely renovated and resprayed to its current shade of blue which makes for a very elegent appearance. The entire electrical system was taken out and repaired. All rubber parts have been replaced. The engine had a crack in cylinder 2, so it was replaced in its entirety, and also completely rebuilt including oversized pistons. A new gas tank was also fitted. The heating and ventilation system has also been completely renovated. The original interior has been kept which presents well with a nice patina in places. A matching dark blue hardtop is also included with the car. Mechanically the engine has been overhauled and the automatic gearbox swapped to manual making this a slighter rarer offering now than its more common automatic brethren. The original steel wheels and hubcaps are also included in the sale, as photographed. Our client has some paperwork and receipts but unfortunately cannot access these presently, as soon as they are available they we will update the advert to include these. If they are not present at the time of the sale our client has assured us she will send these onto the new owner once she can obtain them. This handsome looking Pagoda was a dream car for our client but sadly must move on due to a change in circumstances. It presents beautifully but still has a hint of character on the inside from that time-worn interior. A lovely thing to cruise around in, in mechanically good order and benefitting from a huge amount of work at the hands of a very knowledgeable Mercedes specialist.
